Because the holidays are fast approaching, I am not expecting anyone to create a new organizational system today. But in order to make your life easier and save you time and energy, try a few of these simple tips for creating a spot for some of your most used things that float in and out of your daily life.

1 >> Designate one spot for your keys. This is one thing you can do. Find a hook, a bowl or tray some place ideally close to the door you leave and enter every day. No more running around looking through coat pockets and purses. Keep your keys in their spot and they will always be there when you need them, even if you are running late.

2 >> Badge / ID / name tag. If you don't need to wear one, consider yourself lucky. I need a key card to enter my building and floor every day. If I forget it, it is a hassle to get a temporary one and doesn't give me full access to every where I need to go. So I keep my tag hooked on the inside of my work bag when it is not connected to my belt loop. This could be dangerous if you switch bags a lot. I use the same bag for work every day to avoid issues, so this works for me. I take my badge off as soon as I am leaving the building so I don't forget to take it off my belt loop and accidentally throw it in the wash. If you do switch your bags a lot, consider storing your badge / ID / name tags with your keys so they'll always be together.

3 >> Toiletries. Keep your hairbrush, comb, lotion, nail clippers, tweezers, toothbrush and lotion in the same place every day. Just like your underwear, if it is always in the same spot, you'll always know where things are at. Find a shelf, drawer or some place to store your most used bathroom items and they'll be there to serve you at a moment's notice. I hope these simple tips help to make your holidays less stressful and you'll be ready for anything. Happy Holidays!
